What is better than brunch, especially on either a Saturday or Sunday? I agree, nothing! If you are in Tasmania for a weekend away or longer stay, here are five places I recommend you visit along the way. Oh by the way, bring a jacket – Tasmania can get chilly, luckily it’s a really pretty spot!
I frequent Laneway in Devonport often which has a Melbourne loft-like vibe which serves THE best coffee in town! It’s got a really mix-matched style that is really different to anywhere else down here and the chef is always creating new meals to enjoy.
With tables and chairs outside perfect for a brunch or a sneaky afternoon wine, this cafe knows how to do weekend dining. The coffee is always on point and I will often (always) order the Quinoa Tart with a side of tomato relish – incredible.
Also in Devonport, The Central is a great casual place to eat after a morning walk with friends or a romantic brunch for two, with breakfast served til 11am. The Green Eggs are definitely worth coming in for!
This is indoor cafe which has extended to outside from the front and rear entrance and is so quaint in the sunny town of Penguin. The staff are always lovely and attentive, with the fabulous Banana Bread a favourite of my mum and I’s!
Just the other day whilst in Hobart, the man and I were wandering looking for some breakfast when we came across this cafe / restaurant right beside the Salamanca Market and we sure made a good decision to grab a bite. I tried the Roast Mushrooms which were drizzled in thyme and lemon and paired with Persian feta (which was so creamy) by sour dough bread – ohmgeeeee. I wish I had snapped a picture but I dived in too fast without thinking! Seriously, go visit The Quarry when you are down South of Tasmania.
There you go – my favourite places for my favourite meal of the day!
Have you been to any of these mentioned places? Have I inspired you to come to Tasmania for the weekend at all?
